Why The Shearwater?

Great Shearwaters are what scientists call an “indicator species.” By watching these birds and observing their behavior, conservationists can infer a lot about the broader forces shaping a coastal ecosystem. These insights allow them to create effective, customized strategies to fight the local effects of climate change.
